The youth of the church are so important.....

As time comes and times goes, I have now been in Hong Kong for over a year, and that scares me. I feel as if I have just arrived and have my full two years to go. Knowing that I have the possibilty of two more areas, and maybe 3 more companions and 5 moves left here in Hong Kong, gives me that extra encouragement that I need to work harder then I ever have before. Time is such a precious thing. This week has been so much fun, we have had the amazing opportunity to have a summer missionary with us all week. He goes home tonight and thae things will be back to normal. His name is David Wu, he was from my first area that I served in here in Hong Kong, at the time he was studying in Snow College. I was very close with his family and his 4 other brothers. His family is amazing. I have to say that I have never really clicked with someone like I did with him. This week we had so many miracles, it wasnt even funny. He's very sarcastic and loves to joke around, but at the same time loves to work hard. Therefore we had so much unity which equals tremendous success. I'm going to miss the kid. Since moving from Kwun Tong the work has been a lot more difficult to be honest with you, we've had to work much harder, be more and more obedient 125%, and really had to give it our all. More than anything, we have had to rely on the Lord 110% of the time. This area has not had a baptism in 3 years, I can't tell you why, but I can tell you that we will be have 6 baptisms in the month of July and I couldn't be more grateful. We are baptizing a man by the name of Brother Wan, he has two sons on missions and his wife is the stake relief society president ( which is a huge calling in Hong Kong ), he has investigated for more than 30 years and never has had an interest to be baptized, having an eternal family, just no desire at all, he was fine dying as a buddhist. As I have been teaching him over the past few weeks, we have come down to it and finally found out the true reasons behind it, through repentance, meeting with the bishop, and figuring everything out, he is so excited to be baptized, he chose the date himself, giving him exactly one year from when his two sons come home, so the day that they return he can take them to the temple and be sealed for all time and eternity. Another investigator is named Tom, he is a 17 year old little punk student who is possibly one of the funniest kids I have ever met. He met with missionaries for a long time, but never showed up to appts, never prayed or followed through with any commitments, well through sharing personal expeiernces and meeting with him a lot, he will be baptized on July 10, and has introduced 2 friends to us to that we are now teaching. A change of heart, I think so. The Lord works in miraculous ways. Another man, is a guy that I found contacting named a-hohng, hes 15 years old and just golden in everyway possible. He's a stud and has been waiting for years to have this opportunity. There are a few more but right now these are the ones that came to my head. As I write about this, my eyes just got all watered up, thinking about how much the Lord loves these individuals, how he has blessed my life so much, by giving me the oppt to meet these wonderful new eternal friends. The people I meet on my mission and now my celestial friends, I'm so grateful for every single person I get to meet and get to know, the Lord has blessed my life so much. I love serving my mission and honestly never want to leave. I love the Lord and know through Him that anything is possible. We went from not having a ward, to bringing tons of less actives back to church, new investigators getting baptized and given callings, to just having an amazing powerful ward. I will never forget any of the expierences that I have had on my mission, they have changed my life forever. We, as missionaries putting together a Hong Kong EFY for those that can't afford to go to america to go to efy, ( which is 99% of all the members ) this is the first time that Hong Kong will have such an activity. We are all so excited and so are all the members. The youth of the church are so important, they are the future and more than any other time, they need us right now, this world is so corrupt and messed up, they need to know who they need to rely on, and how they can become the person they got sent down here to be. There is only one way they can firgure that out and thats through your example. Hong Kong is just getting owned day after day with rain and thunderstorms, so much fun, I love it. I'm doing amazing and really loving every second of my mission and so excited for these next few months and to see what happens. Go big or go home. Here is goes, bigger than anyone ever has. I love you all so much and hope you are doing missionary work as well. Hope that you are relying on the Lord for everything. Not upon your own understandings but relying and giving him your all. I love you and hope you are all still smiling!!!! Be happy and love all that the lord has given you.

Hey hey hey everyone! We just got back from the mission home and we have picked ourselves up a summer missionary. He's a stud. He's 19 years old and from Yuen Long! My first area, his family is amazing, he just returned from Snow College last month. He will be serving with us for the next week! So exciting! This summer we won't be having a lot of summer missionaries because of the educational changes that have been happening here in Hong Kong, a lot of the student (members) will no longer be having a summer vacation! So be grateful you do! Therefore, the miracle of the day is only one summer missionary came into the field today and we are the lucky elders that got him! It's going to be a great week, I'm really am just thrilled out of my mind to have another breathing soul in our lonely apartment! Haha, It will be amazing. This week has gone by quite fast might I say. It's been my first week covering these wards, and my first week with elder Palfreyman, its gone by pretty smooth! The previous missionaries in the area never updated the records. So when we are meeting and teaching all these individuals, we really just have to rely on the spirit to know what to teach and how to help them. It's been so amazing to be able to see and feel the guidance we have recieved through out this week. We have met a lot of new investigators as well. Having so many miracles along with it! I don't have much time tonight I've been trying to figure out how to send my pictures home because we took so many this week. But, I just can't figure it out, so I thought that I would write a quick email. Really quick so that you have something from me! In about an hour we have to start our night and start teaching. We have a lesson every hour until 9, so we are really busy, what a blessing that is! We also had our first typhoon of the season yesterday and another one of the way. Right now it's still raining and really windy. Typhoon season is here and it's not leaving for awhile. It's been a blast, but at the same time, very hard to do missionary work because usually people can't leave their houses due to the weather. Ernest, Lambert, Mark, and Jason were all able to visit this last saturday. What a joy that brought to my life. Recieved the priesthood, been to the temple, still reading and praying, I couldn't be any happier. Mark told me he is now preparing for a mission, I hope that Ernest will as well! I know that Ernest reads these emails so yeah buddy, pick up your game. Ernest is stud, he's like my little brother here in Hong Kong, always here to support and help me out. He's the man, I love him so much. I love all the people here, we are making so many new friends and teaching so many great people right now, I just absolutely love seeing how the gospel changes every single person and how different it is for everyone, myself included. This week I've really focused on how I can become a better person, where can I improve, and how I can become a better tool in the hands of the Lord. It all comes down to, how much do you love the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ? Do you see all that they have done for you and me? It's when we realize all that they have done for us, that we will have a desire to be like them. Loving and serving everyone. There are so many people ( golden investigators ) out there in the world that are waiting to hear this message and they are waiting for you to share it with them. Be that person to change their lives, they will be eternally grateful for you. Share it with all to hear, work colleagues, school mates, neighbors, people on the street, family members, EVERYONE NEEDS IT. I hope that this week you can be the person, the son or daughter that Heavenly Father needs you to be. Never give up, always rely on Heavenly Father, He will guide you! He loves you. I love you and hope and pray that you will have a great week. Ask Him to help you continue to develop your testimony and faith, to give you more missionary opportuinites, because if you aren't sharing this gospel with all to hear, you are breaking the commandments everyday. Therefore repent and start keeping the commandments, 100% of the time! SMILE! Alma 37: 34-End of the Chapter. Be grateful for what you have, not what you desire and want. You need to take a step back and look at what you have compared to so many others. Starting with the opportunity to wake up this morning and breathe fresh air.......

It's not easy.....

Hello everyone,
I'm so sorry recently that I haven't been able to get a weekly email home. It's been pretty crazy, and hectic over here in Hong Kong. The weather these days is off the walls, it's always just down pouring and so humid. I can't tell what is sweat and what is rain anymore, gotta love it. Over the past three months I have been able to serve with Elder Ng in Tai Po. It has been the best 3 months ever, we went from hating each other to best friends so fast. Together we learned so much, the main thing we learned is how to have the constant companionship of the holy ghost with us in all times and places. It's not easy, all it takes is one negative thought and op...... bye bye holy ghost. We together went through many trials and difficult times from one thing to another and we didn't think that those trials would ever stop, almost giving up a few times. But in the end, remember what it says in Alma 26:27. We need to bare all of our trials with paitience. How much greater is the joy in the end, than the beggining. Think about that for a second. The end of trial, the end of our lives, is so much greater than the beginning. The celestial kingdom or earth life? Which is better? The beginning of a trial or having faith and accomplishing a trial? We all have our own trials and problems, but when we do all that we can to overcome them, having faith at all times, and relying the rest of the time on the Lord, it is then that you are preparing yourself to return to live with Him again. I also recently read a talk from 2 conferences ago. I had to give a sharing. The talk is called, " What have you done with his name. " ( talks about the cow breaking out of the fence.. why was the fence there... why does god give us commandmants...) you know that talk and if you don't I highly suggest you drop everything and read it right now or re read it. This talk really hit me again. I've read it before, but never really pondered it and applied it to my life. Think about it, as members, when we were baptized we not only promised Him we would keep his commandments, go to church, love everyone, read the book of mormon, but we took on his name and as members we represent him. We also covenanted with him at the time of our baptism that we would bring the world his truth and we would show how grateful we were that he gave us this opportunity to partake of this one and only true gospel by sharing it will all to hear. As members you have a responsibility to share this message with everyone, a lot of you live in Utah and think how can I share this message with anyone here, they are all mormon? Well, there is plenty of ways. Share it with less active members, the retired and weak members that because of health and other issues aren't able to make it to church, relatives, there is people through out the world that would love for you to write your testimony in a book of mormon and send it too them, they are waiting for you. Are you doing all that you can to give the world his truth. I don't have much to say, except as members of his church, it's about time that you pick your game up and rely on the Lord for EVERYTHING.
In Hong Kong I now cover three wards and have a new companion, his name is Elder Palfreyman, he's from Orem Utah. He's legit. He's been out for about 2 months, so we have a lot of learning to do.. .Cantonese in paticular. We will be serving together for the next 6 weeks and then after that I will be having as we say in the mission field a " baby " a fresh greenie to train from the MTC. Should be so much fun and I can't wait. haha pray for him he's going to need it. Pray for me too, who are we kidding. I love Hong Kong more than ever right now. The miracles never stop. I can't wait to see you all next year and share them with you. I know this church is true and I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That for all of u,s he accomplished and completed his atonement. That Heavenly Father is our Father in Heaven and loves each and everyone of us, He is aware of us and will answer every prayer you say. He loves you. I love you. Joseph Smith and Thomas Monson are prophets in these latter days. Listen to their counsel and it's then that you will be the happiest you have ever been. Just smile and take it one step at a time. One foot in front of the next. In chinese we say "maahn maahn haahng". I love you and am always praying for you! Have a great week!
